| 1st Annual Art for MARC An evening event celebrating the integration of arts and science Please Join us on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 5:00-9:00 p.m. University of New England Art Gallery Join us for this festive gala event with an exhibition of original art created by area artists that are inspired by our ocean environment. The 1st Annual Art for MARC silent art auction and reception will feature original art from a variety of talented artists whose work is inspired by their passion for the environment. Through this reception, we hope to raise awareness of and support for marine mammals and the waters they call home. These original pieces will be sold through a silent auction with 50 percent of the proceeds from the evening benefiting UNE Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center (MARC), Maine’s only marine animal rehabilitation center, and 50 percent of the proceeds to the artists. Many of these exceptional pieces of art will be featured in MARC’s 2011 calendar, note cards and postcards.
